Outline · [ Standard ] · Linear+ Check engine light came found a broken hose, Hose broken 1999 VW Passat 1.8T 4cl

I have a 1999 VW Passat 1.8T 4cl and i got a OBD II code 1136 and 1250. When I looked under the hood I saw that a part was broken connecting two hoses near the Ignition Control Module. It looks like air is coming out from one and connects to another hose going into the motor.

Can you tell me what this is called and is it something I can fix myself, would a place like advanced auto have it? Also what do you think the cost would be if I took it to a shop?

Hi, welcome to the forums, sorry for the long response, have been busy...lol...any way you could take a picture of it and pst it so we can have a look see to determine what it is?..Usually, if its a component like that, it would be a dealer only item, as well, a wreckers might be a good alternative..

you can also check the engine bay if you have the vac diagram sticker, you can refer to the diag to identify the hose.

I would think it should be a straight forward repair, just get the new or previously enjoyed part and undo clamps, install part and reinstall clamps, hopefully check engine light will go off, or you will have to have it cleared.

honestly ....no....i am not to current on my vw savvy, have you tried taking pic to the delaer to parts dept?...that would likely be a good step, the first code from what i read is a lean condition code and the second is a fuel code of some sort....so i would think it has to do with air intake or manifild pressures....maybe??...

Non-VW savy techs woould call that a "thing-a-ma-bob" or a "whats-a-gidget!"

The 1250 code is a "fuel level too low" code. Typically comes on when the fuel level has dropped below 2 gallons or the fuel level sensor is faulty.
