Sounds like a hydraulic clutch issue. Check for fluid leaks, especially at the clutch slave and at the back side of the master. If there are leaks, replace the part, bleed the system. If there are no leaks, try bleeding the system and see how it works. If it works well initially but starts to act up again, I would suspect a bad clutch master. In most cases, I find it's best to replace the clutch slave when replacing a clutch master. Saves a little headache down the road! I just hope you didn't replace the trans due to a failing hydraulic clutch system!
