4r55E auto trans, overdrive light flashes when in reverse and shakes when first few miles of driving. Shut off and restart, works okay. Code shows #3 solenoid is bad. How do you tell which of the 3 is the # 3 ? I am considering changing fluid and filter and while in there change the solenoid. 190,000 miles on truck. Fluid and filter changed once, at about 50,000 miles. Is this a do- it -yourself or tranny shop? made one call today and was told " couple of hundred". seems high to me.

Thanks, I need to change filter and fluid and solenoid is affordable, so will change it out while in there.
I have been blessed through the years with at least a nephew, brother or close friend in the auto parts business. Currently a nephew manages a NAPA store. It pays to come from a large family. biggrin.gif
