When steering is turned all the way either left or right to termination, I get a grinding/popping noise if the vehicle is moving (2000 Nissan Xterra 6 cyl, 2whd) I took it to Nissan and the "advisor" told me to grease the steering stops. I don't believe this is belt or pump noise, nor is it the clicking of a C/V joint...

There's a tsb out for the problem you're describing, but a computer glitch is stopping me from posting it. Sorry. When I have more time, I'll work on the glitch, and try to post the tsb for you.

The TSB, Reference# NTBOO-075a, addresses a "Pop" or "Clunk" beneath the floorboard ,which appears to be coming from behind the front seats, particularly at low speeds or when coming to a stop.
Is this the noise you are hearing? If so, I can give more info on the repair. If not, this TSB will be useless to you....
